Hi I’m Lyn Murray and I’m really looking forward to assisting you enjoy the practice of Hatha Yoga.

Hatha yoga is a system of physical exercises and breathing control used in yoga. The word “hatha” can be translated as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

Hatha is a general category that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body. The practice of Hatha yoga can change how we feel not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

Yoga can enhance feelings of happiness and wellbeing, encourage relaxation, provide opportunities to stretch, unwind and release tensions. We can use our yoga practice to become more connected, vital and engaged with the world we live in. We can work on alignment, learn relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with doing yoga while building strength, stability and flexibility.

I had been practicing Yoga on and off for around 10 years and decided to gain a qualification to help share my love of yoga with others. I gained my Certificate of Yoga Teacher Training (200 hour) in 2017 with Sacred Seeds Yoga School in Hobart. Plus, I then completed 300 hours YTT in 2021.
